How to Play Durak
The goal of Durak is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. Here's how to play:
- The deck is shuffled, and each player is dealt six cards.
- The bottom card of the remaining deck is revealed to determine the trump suit. This card is then placed back at the bottom of the deck.
- The player with the lowest trump card starts the first attack.
- The attacker plays a card on the defender. The defender must defend by playing a higher card of the same suit, or any trump card. If a trump card is attacked, it can only be defended by a higher trump card.
- If the defender successfully defends, the attack passes to the next player. If the defender cannot or does not want to defend, they must pick up all the cards played in that round.
- After each round, players draw cards from the deck until they have six cards again.
- The last player with cards remaining is the 'Durak' (fool).
