Why Build a Starship for Gaming?
Playing digital games in a space ship is what every gamer wants. It is the ultimate in game play. I built my own. Here’s how.
Planning My Gaming Starship
Before I built out my setup I made a plan. I went for the best gaming environment I could. Space for multi and single player games was a must. In the RPG, action and strategy categories I was putting my focus.
Choosing the Right Space
I repurposed my garage. It had the square footage which included seating, screens, and control stations. For a gaming starship which is what I was going for this was the best setting.
Picking the Best Tech
I wanted what was best in class for PCs and consoles. In racing and sports games I look for speed in response. As for high end graphics cards they transform simulation games into reality.
Building the Starship Structure
The frame was a two week project. I used wood and metal pipes. Also it had to take on the look of a real spaceship.
Installing Seats and Controls
Car seats are a great choice. I added flight sticks for space games. Also racing wheels improve the experience in driving games.
Setting Up Screens and Sound
Three big monitors which give you the wide view. Also I’m into the idea of great speakers which make the explosions sound larger. For me casual gaming is better this way.
Testing Different Game Types
My starship is a universal solution for all types of games, check out which ways it better each one:.
RPG and Adventure Games
The dim light in there is as far as we go for realism. In the starship setting our story games play out very much like in a live setting. It is also ideal for when we game for hours at a go.
Action and Multiplayer Games
Friends may jump in quick. Guns play out to life in your hands. Here the competitive action really heats up.
Simulation and Strategy Games
Flight simulators are great here. Large maps which are easy to see. Complex games require less scrolling.
Daily Use and Improvements
I have my starship which I race to every day. I put in new upgrades which help keep things interesting. Also, I saw that the recent change out the old lights for new ones improved the racing games’ feel last week.
Comfort Matters Most
Good chairs reduce back pain. In terms of leg room we have what you need for long sessions. Also for casual gaming we go for comfort.
Keep It Cool
Fans out of action which is what causes the overheat. Open windows is a solution at times. For hot running PC’s get adequate airflow.
Conclusion
Building out starship models for games was a blast. It does that for each game which in turn revives interest in them. RPG, racing, and action games in particular which thought they were played out well they aren’t. The project was a time investment but it was worth it. Go build your own gaming space today.
